I love a good pop of neon. And this cute top from last summer is still one of my favorite things in my closet. It’s just one of those items that looks great with just about everything-denim, shorts, skirts-you name it! You can also see how I styled it last summer, here!

We have been having the rainiest weather here in Utah, which has made it really difficult to take outfit photos. So my apologies for being a little quiet over here on the blog. Hopefully once we get through this week, our normal sunny weather will decide to return to us! But today, I wanted to share one of my favorite tops with you. And not just because I love it, but because you can score it on MAJOR sale today! Not only is it the perfect length (a little longer than most button downs), but it has super cute grosgrain ribbon trim, and is the perfect punch of color for both spring and summer (think of how cute it would look with white!!). I love bright colors. And at the top of that list? All things neon. Which makes this skirt one of my very favorite things in my closet this spring. Not only do I love the bright shade, but it’s nicely lined, has the perfect amount of structure, and feels completely different from anything else in my closet while still being a classic silhouette. Sometimes I find that daytime events can be a bit tricky to dress for. So when I had the chance to celebrate with my sister-in-law at her baby shower while we were on vacation a couple of weeks ago, I was feeling a bit stumped as to what to wear. I knew I wanted to wear my new chiffon skirt from the Merle Norman store in Draper (see this post), but it felt a little dressy for a daytime event. So after tearing through everything in my suitcase, I settled on a bright coral t-shirt tank (tied in a knot to tone things down a notch), and of course went with my all-time favorite tried-and-true neon coral pumps, and gold accessories. And to be honest? I LOVE the way this outfit turned out and think it would be the perfect choice for a plethora of occasions-day or night.

Mellow Yellow

As promised, I wanted to show you all my fave JCrew dress without the vest (see the post of it with the vest here), for a little more dressed up version of this look. Also, it should be noted that I am really loving neon yellow right now. In fact, it’s kind of to the point where I feel like I just might need an intervention. To me, neon yellow is just like sunshine, only kicked up a notch. But I want to know what you guys think! Are you loving this color as much as I am this summer? And which look do you prefer? With or without the vest?

Clearly I am obsessed with neon yellow right now. It is such a bright and happy color and just oozes summer time to me. So when I saw this neon yellow lace dress at JCrew, I knew it was the perfect thing to add to my closet. And because I wanted to be able to wear it not just on special occasions, but on casual ones too, pairing it back to an uber cool surplus vest seemed like just the ticket to tone it down a notch. And if you’re a regular follower of this blog, then you know I love a good completer piece. I have to tell you guys, my travel schedule has been so crazy, between vacation, work, and a bike race this weekend for the hubs, I woke up in 5 (5!!!) different town last week. So I couldn’t be happier that I am going to be home (and sleeping in my own bed!) for the next two weeks! Hallelujah!

Fire In the Sky

Happy Friday everyone! Remember how I said earlier in the week that I lost all of the outfit photos I had taken while we were on vacation? Well thanks to my hubby, I was able to salvage the photos from one outfit. And while I am still sad about the others, one, is certainly better than none! So with that said, I have to tell you guys that I am obsessed with this JCrew top. I had been eyeing it for quite some time and immediately snatched it up when it went on sale. The cute embroidered print reminds me of a pink and white Easter dress that I had when I was a little girl, and you all know how much I LOVE neon yellow-a little nostalgia and my favorite pop of color all rolled into one! Plus, it’s a great statement top that can be easily dressed up or down. And when the heat index is high, in my closet, easy, breezy, fun tops like these rule!

Lemon Lime

YOU GUYS! I am back! My apologies for the radio silence on the blog last week! I was traveling for work and on vacation and between our crazy adventures and some unexpected technical issues with my memory card (I lost all of the outfit posts I had planned!), I just couldn’t get any content up. But boy did I miss you all and couldn’t be happier to be back and sharing today’s post!
