As promised, I wanted to show you all my fave JCrew dress without the vest (see the post of it with the vest here), for a little more dressed up version of this look. Also, it should be noted that I am really loving neon yellow right now. In fact, it’s kind of to the point where I feel like I just might need an intervention. To me, neon yellow is just like sunshine, only kicked up a notch. But I want to know what you guys think! Are you loving this color as much as I am this summer? And which look do you prefer? With or without the vest?

Versatility

I’m way into rompers right now. I don’t know what it is, but I keep gravitating towards them over dresses in my closet this summer. I think because they are actually shorts, they can have a slightly more casual feel which makes them seemingly appropriate for just about any occasion-from a backyard BBQ to date night. BUT, rompers are also super easy to glam up. Just add a big floppy sun hat, statement heels, and an oversized pair of sunnies-and bam! Instant glam! And if I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times-versatile pieces (like rompers!) are the key to a well-rounded wardrobe!

Fire In the Sky

Happy Friday everyone! Remember how I said earlier in the week that I lost all of the outfit photos I had taken while we were on vacation? Well thanks to my hubby, I was able to salvage the photos from one outfit. And while I am still sad about the others, one, is certainly better than none! So with that said, I have to tell you guys that I am obsessed with this JCrew top. I had been eyeing it for quite some time and immediately snatched it up when it went on sale. The cute embroidered print reminds me of a pink and white Easter dress that I had when I was a little girl, and you all know how much I LOVE neon yellow-a little nostalgia and my favorite pop of color all rolled into one! Plus, it’s a great statement top that can be easily dressed up or down. And when the heat index is high, in my closet, easy, breezy, fun tops like these rule!

Whether you call it a denim jacket or a jean jacket, if you don’t own one, then you should! Denim jackets are a key item for Spring, and a great investment piece that will last you for seasons to come. And while they are a great layering piece while we wait for the temps to warm up, they are also really cute. In fact, my favorite way of styling them as of late is back to flirty dresses and skirts-allowing me to get into my summer wardrobe a little earlier than usual. Pump It Up

I am definitely a high heel kind of girl. Not a huge fan of flats, and while I do love boots, if I had my choice, let’s be honest, I’d wear a fab pair of pumps everyday. And so it should come as no surprise that this season I am especially loving making a statement with my footwear. Don’t you just love that shoes aren’t just shoes anymore, but rather outfit completing accessories?

I had such a fun weekend in Chicago with friends (of course it went by way too fast). But I couldn’t be happier to be home with my sweet family. Well that, and the fact that we are only 2 days away from heading back to Nicaragua for a little vacay. And let me tell you, I am so excited I can hardly stand it. I love shoes-and I am talking love. And while many might guess that my love affair with footwear started when I began my career as a Footwear Buyer and Developer for Sundance Catalog, I would actually be more inclined to say that it began when I was a little tiny girl and insisted that if I had to wear saddle shoes, then they had to be the pink and white ones and not the black and white version that my mom wanted to buy me for school. And much like my saddle shoes of old, when I saw these Report Signature shoes in a magazine a few weeks ago, I knew I had to track them down. And boy am I glad that I did. Because not only are they chic and amazingly comfortable (not to mention versatile), but they are the perfect hybrid between a pump and bootie-which really couldn’t be any more perfect for the season…

I am in Montana this week for work braving the cold. And while I always love coming back to my home state, sometimes I forget how soft I’ve become between living in Tennessee and Utah over the last few years. Winter is definitely no joke up here in the big sky state!! Brrrrrrrr….

Dream Coat

We had our first snow here in the SLC this weekend. It was a beautiful day on Saturday at almost 70 degrees, but the wind was whipping through the valley all day which usually signals an impending storm front. So without even having to check the weather, I knew come Sunday morning, the chance of waking up to snow was pretty good. And while I must say I have mixed feelings about it, one thing I was most definitely excited about was getting out my winter coats. And speaking of coats, if there is one trend that every gal should jump on this season, it’s adding a colorful jacket or coat to your winter wardrobe.
