White Out

I love white bags and have been wanting to add one to my collection for quite some time.  And while I only had three specific features I knew the bag had to have (saffiano leather, gold hardware, and a structured shape), I had a really hard time finding just the right one.  Well thank goodness for Rebecca Minkoff and her huge spring sample sale coinciding with my birthday this year!  I was able to snatch up the Avery tote which is not only gorgeous (and one of my favorite RM bags EVER), but it also met all of my white bag requirements.  AND the icing on top of the cake?  I was able to get it for less than half of the regular retail price!  My favorite kind of purchase!

Geometry

I was never a huge fan of geometry, but I do love a great geometric print!  And this dress is no exception.  Not only is it fun and unique, but it’s also a fantastic piece to wear for work or play.  And if you are looking to make the most of your wardrobe, then a versatile dress (or two!) is key!

Crop It Like It’s Hot

I loved the crop shirt trend the last go around and fondly remember wearing cute crops with overalls and Birks. Heck, I was even wearing crop tops with low-rise jeans performing at the bars in Nashville back in the day! I was also in my late teens/early twenties at the time-so bearing a little midriff seemed perfectly acceptable.  But now that the crop top trend is back, and finding me in my early 30’s, I’ve been a little unsure as to how to tackle this trend.  Because at my age, I’m certainly not going to be running around with my navel hanging out!  And while I’ve done some cute layering looks with crops, that doesn’t exactly work during the warmer summer months.  So for those of you finding yourselves in the same predicament as me, I have found that a super cute and age appropriate way to wear a crop top, is with a high-wasited skirt.  It still gives you the look and feel of the crop, but without baring all of the skin!  And trust me, your belly button will thank you!

Romper Time

I love rompers.  Like, seriously love them.  They are so fun, flirty, and such a nice change up from dresses and shorts in the summer.  And not only that, but I love the variety that this sweet, ditsy print adds to my wardrobe.  You know what they say, variety is the spice of life, right?  And in my opinion, it’s also the key to a well-rounded wardrobe!  Plus there is just something about rompers that makes me feel like I should be heading to an amazing music festival, or some super cool boho-chic event.

Shifty

I LOVE a good shift dress.  Not only are they the ultimate in comfort, but they are a perfect piece to wear to work during the summer months.  Easy, breezy, and professional.  They are also a great transitional piece to take from day to night, or casual to dressy.  If you follow me on Instagram (and if you don’t, you can follow me here) then you know I wore this dress paired with a denim vest to a friend’s baby shower over the weekend, which gave it a slightly more casual vibe than today’s post.  Once again, another versatile piece that is great to add to any gal’s wardrobe!

Dressy

I have made a pledge this year to wear more dresses.  I’m not quite sure why, but I naturally tend to gravitate towards jeans, heels, and cute tops.  But it gets so hot in the SLC during the summer months, that dresses are really a must.  PLUS they are so cute and comfy and fun and I am really loving all of the vibrant prints and colors that I am seeing available in stores this season.  Case and point?  The dress in today’s post.  Not only does the tribal print of this dress lend itself well back to denim, but because it showcases so many different colors, it will be an easy piece to style multiple ways this summer.  And in my book, versatile pieces like this are the key to expanding your wardrobe without spending a lot of money!

P.S.  If you live in the SLC and love coffee, be sure to stop by the new Publik Coffee.  We stopped in to check it out over Memorial Day weekend and fell in love!  It’s one of the cooler places I’ve been in the SLC.  In fact, it’s actually where we shot these photos. And not only is their coffee and ambiance amazing, but they have an entire menu dedicated solely to different kinds of toast.  Brilliant!

Proud To Be An American

I had good intentions of getting this post up in time for Memorial Day, but ended up being too busy having fun with my family (who was in town for the weekend) to sit down and do any blogging.  So my apologies for the absence of outfit posts the past few days!  But since I’m really digging the patriotic feel of what I wore for our Memorial Day BBQ, I still wanted to share it with all of you!

I love the combination of red, white, and blue-or in this case, neon coral, white, and blue.  And of course what could be more American than adding a little pop of denim to an ensemble?  So even though Memorial Day weekend has (sadly) come and gone, I love this outfit for a multitude of different summer occasions-including the 4th of July, or really any summer BBQ for that matter….

Put A Bow On It

When I think about my own personal style, girly and sweet are definitely not the first words that come to mind.  And while I think hearts and bows and frills are all adorable, I don’t normally gravitate towards those types of ensembles.  BUT, every once in a while, I do think it’s fun to put on a girly dress and pay homage to a more feminine style.  And as an added bonus, while most of us are still experiencing in between temps, I absolutely love the option of wearing a button down shirt underneath a dress to change things up from my typical go-to cardi or jean jacket…
