Sunshine On My Shoulders

A yellow blazer is a piece I have been wanting to add to my wardrobe for the last 5 years, but I have never been able to find quite the right one.  And after searching high and low for so long, I had all but given up until I saw this one in the window at Zara in downtown Seattle a couple of weeks ago.  I knew the minute I saw it, that it was exactly what I had been looking for!  And I absolutely LOVE it!  I know I’ve said it before, but blazers are a great investment piece to add to your wardrobe.  Not only are they classic and never go out of style, but you can wear them to just about any event-whether it be social or work related.  So if you are looking for items to add to your wardrobe that go a long way and create a lot of outfit options without breaking the bank, then be sure to shop my favorite blazer picks below…

Statement Pumps

It’s no secret that I love shoes.  And there is almost nothing in the whole wide world of fashion that I love more than a great pair of statement pumps!  So when I spotted these gorgeous Vince Camuto stunners when I was in San Francisco for meetings last week, I knew they would be a perfect addition to my wardrobe!  Not only will they look fantastic with jeans, but I am especially loving the way they amp up a simple long sleeved black dress.  A perfect (and super easy!) look for date night if you ask me!

Cupcake

I think it might be safe to say that I’ve never met a stripe I haven’t liked.  And this cute little striped cupcake skirt from H&M has been an obvious favorite in my closet.  Like leopard, stripes can be used as a neutral-particularly when they are black and white.  So looking for pieces like this to add to your closet will give you a lot of different options for creating outfits with items you already own!

Red and White

Well hello there, sweet friends!  Apologies for being a little MIA on the blog this last week.  If you follow me on Insta (and if you don’t you can find me here: alldolledupblog), then you know I am on vacation with my hubby in gorgeous San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua.  It is our 3rd time visiting this beautiful country and we are having a blast!  I had some blogs scheduled to share with you this week, but our internet has been a little spotty, so today is the first day I am able to share one of my planned posts with you!

I picked up this fantastic tulle skirt from Windsor Store for the holidays, but have found countless ways to wear it sine then.  And I know I will be able to get a ton of use out of it in the coming months as well.  In my opinion, a girl can never have too many tulle skits-especially when you can snag this one for under $35!!!!!  So if you have been looking to add a tulle skirt to your closet, this is really a great option AND it comes in lots of super cute colors!

Shifty

I love a good shift dress.  It’s a great way to look polished without really putting in much thought or effort.  Because let’s face it, sometimes getting dressed can be really HARD (no matter how many clothes you have in your closet!).  So I always try to have a couple of these on hand in basic colors-a wardrobe hack, if you will.  They are super flattering on just about any body type, and pair well with boots or pumps, blazers or denim jackets, and also happen to look great paired with faux fur vests!  So if you don’t have a basic shift dress in your wardrobe, you should.  Just another one of those items that will give you a ton of outfit options without breaking the bank!

Green for the Holidays (and a REALLY amazing giveaway!!)

Happy Monday, lovelies!  Today I wanted to share with you another outfit idea for the holiday season.  I love red and always tend to gravitate towards it this time of year, but I am here to tell you that green is a fantastic alternative if you are looking to change up your holiday ensembles a bit.  I never thought I would wear this skirt outside of the summer months, but paired back to black and leopard, it feels totally appropriate and perfectly festive for the holiday season!  In fact, I’m thinking of wearing this exact outfit to an even I have this week!!  But I want to know, would you all dare to wear neon green (tulle!) during the winter months???

And be sure to scroll to the bottom of the post for a giveaway you don’t want to miss!!!

And now for the giveaway…

If you have followed my blog for a while, then you might remember that I used to wear eyelash extensions.  But after having worn them for several months, I developed a severe allergic reaction to the glue.  And the end result (besides being totally traumatized by the whole ordeal)? Pretty much all of my eyelashes fell out.  And it. was. awful.  Fortunately for me, it was right around this time that I discovered Younique 3D Fiberlash Mascara.  And let me tell you-this stuff is awesome!  I am so hooked on it.  Far less expensive and time consuming than eyelash extensions, you can control the intensity, and you can wear it with or without your current mascara.  People ask me all of the time if I wear eyelash extensions-I am telling you, this stuff is a miracle in two convenient little tubes!

And today (because it’s your lucky day!), I am teaming up with my friend Kim Rosen to give away a set of Younique 3D Fiberlash mascara to one lucky reader (click on the rafflecopter link below)!!!  Winner will be announced Tuesday, December 23rd.

Good luck and happy Monday!!!!!!

Think Pink

I love that pretty much anything goes this Fall season.  And when I say anything, I mean hot pink and florals aren’t just for the spring and summer months anymore.  And while l love my neutrals this time of year, I am finding a pop of color to be a welcome addition to my Fall wardrobe.  But I want to know, what do you all think of wearing bright colors and pastels during the cooler months?

Texture

It’s no secret that I love print mixing.  But what you might not know is that I am also a fan of mixing different textures and fabrics.  And when I stumbled on this fun version of a classic surplus coat while recently shopping for a dress for my cousin’s wedding, I just couldn’t help myself. It’s the perfect Fall piece with just enough of a twist to make an old staple feel new again…

Layers

One of my favorite things about dressing for Fall is layering.  I love putting multiple pieces together to achieve different looks and maximize the pieces in my wardrobe.  And because I am such a fan of the layered look, I am definitely finding myself gravitating towards this season’s mixed media pieces that give you the layered look without having to actually layer.  Not only do they help simplify getting dressed in the morning, but they are a great option to get the layered look without all the bulk!

Motorin’

I am guessing if you follow this blog regularly, then it should come as no surprise that a t-shirt, ripped skinnies, and a great pair of pumps is my go-too outfit.  It’s such an easy combo and works perfectly for so many different types of events and outings.  And while I am fond of this outfit all year round, I especially love it in the Fall season when I can incorporate another one of my very favorite items-a classic moto jacket!
