Sequin Bomber

Give me all the sequins!  Now that it’s officially less than one week until Christmas, you can pretty much guarantee that I’ll be wearing sequins (or velvet) in one form or another from here on out.  And what could be better than a sequin bomber?  It’s the perfect way to add a little holiday glam to an otherwise casual look.

On Repeat

I’ve posted a similar version of this outfit a few times on my Instagram this Fall, and I’ve gotten so many questions about it (especially this buffalo plaid shirt), that I wanted to share it on my blog too.  It’s such a cute and easy look to throw together, and it would be perfect (and comfy!) for a casual Thanksgiving dinner.  Plus, how amazing are these booties?

Personal Favorites

Whether you know me through the blog, or know me in person, then you probably know that I love vests.  I am also a big fan of stripes.  So it should come as no surprise that today’s outfit is a typical go-to uniform for me.  You know those outfits that just feel comfortable?  This is one of those for me. An easy, breezy combo that still feels put together, all while being super comfortable. Perfect for a Monday.

Tunic

Confession: I ordered this “top” thinking that it was a dress.  But when it arrived, it was much too short, and the slit was way too high (yikes!) for me to wear it as a dress, let alone in public.  Ha! But I loved the print and fabric so much (it is a nice, sturdy scuba material), that I stewed over how to wear it for a while, not wanting to return it.  And I finally decided that it could indeed be worn be worn as a top.  In the end, while I still wish it was a dress, I am loving how it looks with leggings, and can’t wait to wear it again when the temperature drops with a cute blazer or leather jacket.

Have you guys ever had a similar experience ordering online before?DSC_2469DSC_2467DSC_2507DSC_2470DSC_2483DSC_2474DSC_2506DSC_2485DSC_2509

Tunic: Shein c/o (I would suggest ordering once size up) | Leggings: JCrew (I SWEAR by these, AND they’re on sale for under $55!!) | Cuff: Forever21 (old) love this | Ring: House of Harlow | Sunnies: Karen Walker (rent them for FREE for one month with code: ALLDOLLEDUP at checkout, and then just $24/month after that for as many months as you choose!) | Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim | Heels: Vince Camuto (old), craving these

Hope you are all having a great week.  I am traveling again for meetings this week.  And I have to tell you, the past few weeks have been so packed full of travel for me that I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that tomorrow marks the first day of October!  Where on earth did September go?  Cray cray!! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by!

Buffalo Plaid (and your guide to Black Friday sales happening NOW!)

It’s no secret that I love a great plaid shirt.  In fact, I have to limit how many plaid shirts I wear in a week!!  They are such an easy go-to in my closet this time of year, it’s hard not to gravitate towards them!  So on the eve of Thanksgiving, I thought it was fitting that my 3rd and final outfit idea for you turkey day festivities was a plaid shirt.  After all, a bright red buffalo check shirt is the perfect festive look to wear during the holidays-especially when paired back to a pair of favorite leggings, a cozy fur vest, and some killer pumps or boots!

Little Red Riding Hood

Happy Friday, everyone! I don’t know about you, but this is always one of my very favorite weekends of the year.  And  do you know why? Because Thanksgiving is awaiting us just on the other side! I love the holidays so much, I can hardly stand it.

And with the holidays literally looming just around the corner, I finally caved and brought all of my winter coats out of storage. And as I was reviewing my personal inventory, I couldn’t help but be completely drawn to my red skirted coat. With color playing such an important role in fashion this year, I think that a brightly colored coat is an important investment that everyone should make this season. And because of the color trend, finding your perfect hue should make for a fairly easy task. Red is a great basic and a good investment because it will never go out of style, but I’ve seen everything from pale pink, to mustard, to vibrant shades of blue. So really, the choice is yours.

Last night J and I went on a little date in downtown SLC. We had a fun dinner at Flemmings and attended the unveiling of the iconic candy windows at our new downtown Macy’s. It was a fun tradition to be a part of and we were so impressed. Pretty amazing that these huge ornaments are all completely made of candy!!

Fashion Star Finale!

I was so excited when I learned of the inception of Fashion Star and have thoroughly enjoyed it every Tuesday night since its premiere.  The mentors are terrific, the designers are fantastic, and as a buyer myself, of course I especially love the buyers!  In fact, I was even privileged enough to spend some time with Caprice in LA when I first started working for Macy’s.  And let me tell you, she is just as pretty and fabulous in person as she is on TV!

So of course, having followed along with the designers on their journey thus far, I am so excited to see how the finale unravels tonight!  Although each person left is incredibly talented, I can’t help but find myself rooting for Kara.  She is sweet, and humble, and her sense of style rocks!!  I think she is the perfect candidate to design lines for H&M, Saks, and Macy’s.  But even though I’m rooting for Kara, Orly was my season favorite, so in honor of her, I wanted to pay tribute by wearing the AH-mazing lime blazer she debuted last week, and of course top it off with some jewelry from Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow…

Blazer:  Orly Shani for H&M

Black Silk Cami:  Express

Snake Skin Liquid Leggings:  Nodrstrom (old)

Heels:  Steve Madden

Necklace:  House of Harlow via Nordstrom

Ring: House of Harlow via Nordstrom

Tortise Watch:  Michael Kors via Nordstrom Rack

Bracelets:  Tiffany, Macy’s, Word Market, H&M

Sunnies:  Guess via TJMaxx

So while I can’t wait to see if my girl Kara is announced as the very first Fashion Star, tonight will also be a bit bittersweet as I say goodbye to one of my favorite guilty pleasures.  Guess I better start figuring out something new to do on my Tuesday nights!

Good luck Kara!!!
