In honor of Halloween, today’s outfit post is brought to you by the colors orange and black. And while it might seem like a taboo combo, or at the very least a little tough to wrangle, I promise you can wear black and orange together without looking like you are dressing up for Halloween-or in support of your favorite team. The best bet? Stay away from a true orange. Instead, opt for shades of mandarin (like my outfit below), corals, or neon. All look fantastic with black and can be worn together anytime of the year…

Just A Sliver

One look that was all over NYFW that I am feeling a little on the fence about? Midriff baring tops. Now when I was in my early 20’s, I most definitely would have embraced this trend. But now that I am a littler older, it’s daring a look that pushes me out of my fashion comfort zone. And of course, forces me to acknowledge that certain trends are perhaps sometimes better suited for younger demographics. And while you won’t see me baring my full midriff anytime soon, I must admit I love the idea of taking a classic outfit, adding some pretty jewels and toughed-up shoes, and showing just a hint of skin. Does anyone else feel like Labor Day is the most bittersweet weekend of the year? Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE fall (especially fall clothes), but it makes me so sad to say goodbye to summer every year (probably because I know a long winter awaits us just on the other side). And while I am looking forward to a nice 3-day weekend up in Park City with family and friends, I have to say that this girl is pretty darn sad to see summer go. So in honor of my favorite season, I thought I might post a round-up of my favorite All Dolled Up looks of the summer….

Color tends to be a pretty consistent trend in my summer wardrobe. And this fun, striped skirt from JCrew is no exception. And while I initially gravitated towards styling it back to heels and vibrant oranges, I am also looking forward to trying it with shades purples, or a favorite chambray shirt and pair of flats.
