Vacation Style

Hola!! This morning I am writing this post to you guys from San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua. If you checked out any of last week’s posts, or follow me on Instagram (alldolledupblog), then you know Justin and I are on vacation. And what a glorious vacation it has been! This is our 2nd time in SJDS and we are absolutely in love. Beautiful town, wonderful people, and an incredibly laid back lifestyle which has made it pretty easy for us to just kick back and relax. The biggest question of the day tends to be whether to go to the beach (surfing for J), or hang by the pool at our house.

We didn’t bring our DSLR with us, so J snapped these photos with his phone out on our patio while we were enjoying our favorite time of the day here…the sunset. Even Jack (our guard dog), loves to sit and watch the sunset with us and insisted in being in some of the photos with me. 🙂 Maxi skirts, minimal jewelry, and bright tanks have pretty much been my go-to uniform since we’ve been here (outside of bathing suits). And I am loving the super high slit of this maxi. Pretty sure it’s my favorite thing that I packed-not to mention that it cost less than $20!!! Tough to beat that!

Track Pants

It took me a little while to hop on the whole track pant band wagon, but am I sure glad that I finally did! Not only are they as comfy as sweatpants, but they look fantastic back to heels. And who doesn’t love to look to put together while being comfortable at the same time??

Radiant Orchid

I have to admit, I usually get pretty excited every year when Pantone announces their “official” color of the year. But last year I was so thrilled when they announced that the “it” color of 2013 was Emerald Green, that I didn’t hold out much hope for 2014-that is until they announced that their official color of the year was Radiant Orchid (insert swoon here). Now if there is one color that could top Emerald Green in my book, this is most definitely it. So what better way to kick off my 2014 blog posts than with an ode to Radiant Orchid, Pantone’s official color of 2014…

A Few of My Favorite Things

I love finding fashion inspiration on Pinterest and Instagram. And that is precisely where I stumbled upon the jacket and peplum top that I’m wearing in this post. Both were at the top of my shopping list this fall, and while I didn’t anticipate wearing them together, I am loving the structure and lines of the jacket back to the flirty and almost futuristic ruffle of the peplum. And while my hubs is a big fan of the jacket, peplum remains one of those styles that he just can’t wrap his head around. I guess we can add it to that list of fashions (along with fur vests and maxi dresses) that men just don’t understand…

FPF: Gold Cuff

So I guess it’s been a little while since I shared a favorite item with you all on a Friday. And today I wanted to talk about my summer obsession with gold cuffs!! I just can’t seem to get enough of them (if you hadn’t figured that out already!). They are a great statement and the perfect way to add a little interest to any outfit-whether it be dressed up or dressed down. Plus they are an easy alternate to an elaborate arm party-especially on a hot day when the last thing you feel like doing is piling on the jewelry…

Both of my cuffs featured in the above photos are older styles from H&M, but I am currently crushing on this style, this style, and this style.

J and I are heading on our annual summer vacation to Montana in just a few hours, and I absolutely cannot wait for a week of fun in the sun with family and friends in the beautiful Flathead Valley! I will however, still be posting next week, so be sure to stop by the blog!
