The Perfect White T-Shirt

I love to dress up and try different looks for the blog. But at the end of the day, I am a t-shirt and jeans kind of a girl. And let me tell you, I have been hunting for the perfect white long-sleeve t-shirt for ages. But it seems all of the ones that I try are too see-through, the fit isn’t quite right, or they shrink like crazy and don’t last. So I am happy to finally report that I have officially found the perfect white t-shirt. The fit is fantastic, it isn’t see-through at all, and washes up perfectly. Plus the fabrication is so lovely, I know it was worth the price and will last me for years to come. So if you too have been on the hunt for the perfect white tee, then ladies, this post is for you!

Wine Not?

J and I were in Sonoma this past weekend doing a little biking and wine tasting, and even though the temps were unusually hot, the leaves were changing colors and Fall was definitely in the air. So I of course, took full advantage of the opportunity and packed some cute plaid and my favorite booties. And I have to tell you guys, wearing dresses with booties is my very favorite kind of outfit right now. J and I are off again today and heading to Vegas for a bike race, a little pool action and a nice long weekend. I’m pretty sure between leisure and work travel, I have been living out of my suitcase (literally!) for the last 6 weeks. Kinda crazy, but pretty fun. Leather and Lace

I love this time of year when I can transition my summer dresses into the Fall season. And even more than that, I love that I don’t have to put my white items away after Labor Day! Because as perfect as this white lace dress was to wear during the summer months, I actually prefer it dressed up with Fall ready accessories. And if you didn’t buy this FANTASTIC faux leather jacket last year (it is my absolute FAVORITE), it’s not too late, because Nordstrom brought it back again this season. It really is just that good (and it’s under $100)!

Summer Dresses

I am and always have been a jeans and t-shirt kind of a girl. But last summer, I made an effort to start wearing more dresses. Especially during the summer months. And you know what? It is definitely something that has stuck. I find myself wearing more and more dresses these days without even making a conscious effort to do so. And this easy, breezy swing dress from Express is at the top of my list. I first found the long sleeve version this spring (which you can see how I styled it here), and then found it in sleeveless stripes, and now in this gorgeous cobalt blue. It is definitely a go-to in my wardrobe and as I head out on vacation today, you can guarantee it’s packed neatly in my suitcase!

T-Shirt Dress

I am a huge fan of t-shirt dresses. And I have been especially loving this one lately. First of all, it’s striped (duh!), second, the high low hem-line makes it really unique, and last but not least, it’s under $10! Say what?? Don’t you just love a good deal on a great closet staple? I know I certainly do. PLUS, this is another great example of a piece that is perfect for now and later!

Burgundy

When it comes to shopping, I am not very good at purchasing items in advance for an upcoming season. Instead, I am more of a buy now, wear now kind of girl. So this time of year gets to be a little tricky for me. While August is one of my favorite times to shop because of all of the amazing deals, summer is also running short on time, so I want to be careful and not purchase things that I am going to have to put away in a few weeks. So instead, I look for transitional items to add to my wardrobe that I can wear now and wear later. And this dress is a great example. I had been eyeing it in a bright pink color for quite sometime, but when it recently went on sale, I ultimately decided to buy it in burgundy because not only can I wear it now, but it will look great layered with leopard, and booties, and jackets and sweaters!

Color

And with the slightly cooler weather here in the SLC that has been layering itself in with our typically hot temps, I have found that some evenings, it’s nice to have a light coat with me as an option. Plus these tassel shoes. I can’t even. I’m pretty sure they are my favorite purchase from the #NSale. They are less than $90 and also come in black and red. I am really on a stripe kick these days. And this dress from Express is seriously one of my very pieces in my closet. It is cute and comfy and the perfect piece to throw on for a BBQ, bike ride, dinner at home, or for a night on the town. All you have to do is change out your shoes and jewelry and it takes on a completely different personality every time. In fact, I love this dress so much (and it’s on sale for such a great price!) that I just picked it up in two more colors!
