Tunic

Confession: I ordered this “top” thinking that it was a dress. But when it arrived, it was much too short, and the slit was way too high (yikes!) for me to wear it as a dress, let alone in public. Ha! But I loved the print and fabric so much (it is a nice, sturdy scuba material), that I stewed over how to wear it for a while, not wanting to return it. And I finally decided that it could indeed be worn be worn as a top. In the end, while I still wish it was a dress, I am loving how it looks with leggings, and can’t wait to wear it again when the temperature drops with a cute blazer or leather jacket.

Wine Not?

J and I were in Sonoma this past weekend doing a little biking and wine tasting, and even though the temps were unusually hot, the leaves were changing colors and Fall was definitely in the air. So I of course, took full advantage of the opportunity and packed some cute plaid and my favorite booties. And I have to tell you guys, wearing dresses with booties is my very favorite kind of outfit right now. Simple

Believe it or not, sometimes I have no idea what to wear. Honestly, I think we all have those days where we just stand in our closets completely blank, not really knowing where to start. So when I find myself having one of those moments, I’ve found that sometimes the best solution is to go back to basics and go with what I “know”. For me, that is a simple top (usually a tank), a favorite pair of jeans, and a pair of pumps. It’s an outfit I always feel good in and it’s typically appropriate for any occasion. Plus, it’s a great blank canvas to change-up with a fun necklace, statement pumps, or other great accessories!
