I am a pretty tried and true JCrew and Gap girl when it comes to my beloved button downs. And I rarely (if ever) venture outside of this cozy comfort zone. However, since I didn’t have any luck with either store on my hunt for a light gray plaid shirt this spring, I was forced to venture out. And I have to say, I am glad that I did because I am absolutely LOVING the fit and style of this Ralph Lauren Denim and Supply top. It is slightly longer in the back, the fabric is light and airy, and the fit is fantastic. In fact, it’s been such a popular shirt at Macy’s, it’s been selected as a customer favorite. And you know what that means? More prints and patterns to come! I know I’ll be on the lookout to add some additional versions of this fantastic shirt to my closet!

I knew the second I saw this top in person that I had to have it. I had seen it on the Banana Republic website, but didn’t realize just how gorgeous it was until I saw it in the store. This top is absolutely the prettiest mix of a sequined floral print, with just a touch of neon piping. And I have to say, it is one of those extra special pieces that only seem to come around every once in a while. And even though sometimes they take a little seeking out, every girl should have a couple of these extra special pieces in her wardrobe!

Leopard on leopard. What do y’all think? Yay or nay? I think yay. I am obviously a huge fan of print mixing, but typically gravitate towards pairing different patterns together (florals and stripes, stripes and leopard, polka dots and stripes, etc.). And while I believe it’s perfectly acceptable to mix two of the same print together, it definitely works best if you follow a couple of rules. The first is that the patterns are in the same or a complimentary color palette. And the second is that the size of the two different prints are contrasting. Pretty easy, don’t you think?

So, I almost didn’t have any blog photos to share with you guys this week. For once, I was actually ahead of the game and shot some pics over the weekend, but when I went to import them into Lightroom, I received a dreaded error that my SD card was corrupted. I tried everything to retrieve the photos, but no luck. So thank goodness for my tech savvy hubby who was able to save the day for me! I love boyfriend jeans. They are so comfy, and casual, but also look fantastic dressed up back to heels and a cute top. In fact, I think it’s one of the spring trends that everyone should invest in. But be forewarned, it might take some trying on to find the perfect pair that work for your body type. In fact, it took me quite a while to find a pair that were both flattering and comfy-but they were definitely well worth the effort!
