I am pretty sure that yesterday was the first Monday that I haven’t shared a blog post since I launched All Dolled Up. And if you follow me on Instagram (and if you don’t, you should: alldolledupblog), then you know I have been in Boulder cheering on my hubby at Cyclorcross Nationals. And while we had a really fun weekend, horrible roads plus a sick husband on the drive home meant having to unexpectedly stay the night in a hotel in the middle-of-nowhere Wyoming. So my apologies for missing yesterday!

But now that I am back, I wanted to share with you an amazing company called Raven + Lily. I love to shop fair trade and have shared quite a few fair trade finds and companies on the blog in the past, and so I thought it was important to share the ah-mazingness of Raven + Lily with all of you. Raven + Lily is a company founded by two women who wanted to use fashion and ethical design as a “a platform to utilize those passions to alleviate poverty among women”. The necklace I am wearing in today’s post is a favorite of mine from their Ethiopian Collection and was created by HIV positive women from handmade beads made of melted bullet casings from previous war conflicts. Happy Friday y’all! I have to tell you, I am so happy the weekend is here. This has definitely not been my most favorite week ever. But onward and upward, right? In honor of Favorite Product Friday, today I wanted to share with you about an experience I recently had at Dallas Roberts Salon in Salt Lake City. They invited me in for a deep condition and scalp massage and so of course, I obliged! And let me tell you, my experience was fabulous. The girls were great, I was greeted with a delicious mint tea, and treated like a queen while I was there (not to mention they sent me home with all sorts of fun samples). Pleather

I have been on the hunt for a pair of pleather pants for a while now. And wow, was a good pair hard to find! My only requirement was that just the front of the pant was pleather (I didn’t want to end up like Ross in his full leather pants on Friends!), and the back, a good ponte. And while there are lots of options on the market (and believe me, I tried them all), a good fitting pair was really hard to find. But as usual, thank goodness for JCrew for coming through for me as usual and offering an amazing option in their factory stores. And an even bigger thank you to my sweet hubby for tracking them down for me for Christmas!

I also have to say that I am loving the neutral color palette of this outfit. After all of the colors and plaids I have been wearing throughout the holiday season, something just feels really good about going back to the basics.

I love a good graphic tee. And since I missed out on the Kiss tee that JCrew launched this fall, I pounced on the Hello tee as soon as I saw it in store. And boy am I glad that I did. It’s already made a plethora of appearances in my daily wardrobe, including on NYE when I wore it with a sequin jacket, ripped jeans, and sparkly pumps. I mean what better way to say hello to the new year than on your t-shirt? And because a t-shirt and ripped jeans back to dressed up accessories is still going to be a go-to look for me in 2014, I can’t wait to come up with more ways to style this tee. But today’s look is probably my favorite to date-ultra laid back and causal with a splash of statement jewelry and a flash of silver accessories…

I don’t know about you all, but yesterday was painful. I was so not ready for vacation to be over and to be back at work. But the good news is, we are heading to Denver this weekend. So I am definitely looking forward to a road trip with my sweet family and a little time spent in the Mile High City!

I always get a little reflective and perhaps even pensive when each year ends and a new one begins. It is a time of excitement and the promise of a new beginning and fresh start, but the turning of that page always makes me a little sad too. The older I get, the faster and faster time seems to go. Cliche, I know, but true none-the-less.

Looking back at 2013, this blog has really been such a highlight of my year. And so, I wanted to take today’s post to THANK ALL OF YOU for being with me every step of the way. Your support, your engagement, your ideas, your encouragement, your love-it has all meant the world to me. And I sincerely hope you will continue along this journey with me into 2014 I could not do what I do every day without each and every single one of you. So truly, from the bottom of my hear, THANK YOU.

When I think of holiday fashion, I think about dressing up-sequins and sparkles, high heels and statement jewelry, and lots and lots of red. But one thing I don’t often plan, or think about for that matter, is a comfy, cozy outfit to wear for lounging around on Christmas in between opening presents and dinner festivities. I have been on the hunt for a pair of sequin pants for quite a while now. And believe me, it was much more difficult than I could have ever anticipated. So I was absolutely thrilled when I found this fantastic black pair of sequin pants at Bebe for a steal of a price. In my opinion, they are the perfect holiday party attire. And while I am loving them back to plaid, I can’t wait to style them more ways this holiday season!

Glam

I’ve learned a lot about my own personal style since I started on the journey of writing this blog. I’ve learned that I like pants and jeans. A lot. I only like to wear dresses and skirts in the warm summer months. I hate tights. But I really like button down shirts. I love jewelry and accessories, but even though I own a lot of fun costume jewelry (and good jewelry too), I find that I tend to gravitate towards the same pieces on a daily basis. And while I probably dress up a little more than most of my friends, I would still define my style as casual. I’ve learned that glam isn’t necessarily a go-to look for me, but it is definitely one that I enjoy every now and again-especially when I feel like changing things up during the winter months. And I have found that perhaps the easiest, no-fuss way to achieve a glam look (while still maintaining a casual vibe), is pairing a faux (of course!) fur vest, a pair of over-the-knee boots, some chic gold jewelry, and a bold red lip back to a simple sweater and favorite pair of jeans. A glam look that even the most casual of us gals can easily achieve…

I love finding fashion inspiration on Pinterest and Instagram. And that is precisely where I stumbled upon the jacket and peplum top that I’m wearing in this post. Both were at the top of my shopping list this fall, and while I didn’t anticipate wearing them together, I am loving the structure and lines of the jacket back to the flirty and almost futuristic ruffle of the peplum. And while my hubs is a big fan of the jacket, peplum remains one of those styles that he just can’t wrap his head around. I guess we can add it to that list of fashions (along with fur vests and maxi dresses) that men just don’t understand…
