I love the black and white trend this season. And because black is such a staple (and something I know all of you already own in your own personal wardrobes), this should be an easy trend for anyone to get in on this season without necessarily having to pick up anything new. And while black and white is a relatively safe trend to try, bordering on the more serious and sophisticated side of style, remember that it’s okay to have a little fun with it and think outside of the box too-like mixing graphic prints and stripes together.

Coral Crush

Sometimes I find that daytime events can be a bit tricky to dress for. So when I had the chance to celebrate with my sister-in-law at her baby shower while we were on vacation a couple of weeks ago, I was feeling a bit stumped as to what to wear. I knew I wanted to wear my new chiffon skirt from the Merle Norman store in Draper (see this post), but it felt a little dressy for a daytime event. So after tearing through everything in my suitcase, I settled on a bright coral t-shirt tank (tied in a knot to tone things down a notch), and of course went with my all-time favorite tried-and-true neon coral pumps, and gold accessories. And to be honest? I LOVE the way this outfit turned out and think it would be the perfect choice for a plethora of occasions-day or night.

I love leopard. And while I tend to gravitate towards wearing it more often during the cooler months-it is perfectly acceptable during the summer time too. Especially when paired back to a bright lip and fun accessories. So if your leopard prints are hanging out in the back of your closet this summer, maybe it’s time to pull them out, dust them off, and give them some summer love!

Clearly I am obsessed with neon yellow right now. It is such a bright and happy color and just oozes summer time to me. So when I saw this neon yellow lace dress at JCrew, I knew it was the perfect thing to add to my closet. And because I wanted to be able to wear it not just on special occasions, but on casual ones too, pairing it back to an uber cool surplus vest seemed like just the ticket to tone it down a notch. And if you’re a regular follower of this blog, then you know I love a good completer piece. I have to tell you guys, my travel schedule has been so crazy, between vacation, work, and a bike race this weekend for the hubs, I woke up in 5 (5!!!) different town last week. Fire In the Sky

Happy Friday everyone! Remember how I said earlier in the week that I lost all of the outfit photos I had taken while we were on vacation? Well thanks to my hubby, I was able to salvage the photos from one outfit. And while I am still sad about the others, one, is certainly better than none! So with that said, I have to tell you guys that I am obsessed with this JCrew top. I had been eyeing it for quite some time and immediately snatched it up when it went on sale. The cute embroidered print reminds me of a pink and white Easter dress that I had when I was a little girl, and you all know how much I LOVE neon yellow-a little nostalgia and my favorite pop of color all rolled into one! Plus, it’s a great statement top that can be easily dressed up or down. And when the heat index is high, in my closet, easy, breezy, fun tops like these rule!

YOU GUYS! I am back! My apologies for the radio silence on the blog last week! I was traveling for work and on vacation and between our crazy adventures and some unexpected technical issues with my memory card (I lost all of the outfit posts I had planned!), I just couldn’t get any content up. But boy did I miss you all and couldn’t be happier to be back and sharing today’s post!

I had such an amazing time working with them and was so happy to finally have the perfect opportunity to shoot my beloved neon tulle skirt from The Girl That Loves. Tulle is all the rage right now and The Girl That Loves has an assortment of incredible colors and styles that are also extremely comfortable. Quick (late!) post coming to you guys today. This was actually a recent outfit that I wore to work and I just had to share because I am loving bubble gum pink so much this summer. It is a fantastic, versatile color and of course pairs perfectly back to black skinnies and nude pumps with a pop of leopard!
