I can’t stop with the leopard and plaid. It is my favorite way to pattern mix. Especially in the Fall season. And this top? I love that it’s such a fun twist on a classic plaid shirt. It’s definitely a go-to in my wardrobe right now.

Two of my favorite trends this season? Off-the-shoulder tops and dresses, and over-the-knee boots. So it was an obvious choice to pair the two together. Velvet is one of my very favorite trends of the seasons. In fact, velvet is always a favorite fabric of mine (particularly crushed), so I’m really glad that it’s going to be important to the Fall season and can’t wait to add more pieces to my wardrobe. Happy first day of Fall, friends! Can you believe that summer has officially come and gone? I always hate it when summer goes, but I am definitely ready for all things pumpkin and cozy. The only problem is, it’s been blazing hot here in the SLC, which has made it nearly impossible to layer up. But I’ve still been able to get a start wearing my favorite Fall trends by adding things like lace-up pumps, and cocoon vests to my looks. It was pretty cold when I was up in Montana earlier this week. But my mom and I still ventured up to Glacier National Park to have lunch at the lodge, take a little drive, and just drink in the glorious sights and crisp Fall air. And naturally, I gravitated towards my favorite Fall uniform for our adventure: an oversized cardi, comfy tunic tee, skinny jeans, booties, and a floppy hat. When I was home for a wedding over the weekend, I bought a really gorgeous green suede bomber jacket (coming to the blog soon!). I certainly was not anticipating purchasing one while running errands in my home-town with my mom, but it just happened to be one of those magical finds you sometimes stumble upon at TJMaxx. Anyway, when we got home, my mom disappeared upstairs for a while, and when she came back down, she had this gorgeous cognac suede jacket in hand. I learned she purchased it when she visited Florence while living abroad in France in 1971, and she wanted me to have it! I can’t even tell you how thrilled I was. Not only is it gorgeous and perfect for the Fall season, but what a cool piece of my mom’s history to have.
