I love rompers. Like, seriously love them. They are so fun, flirty, and such a nice change up from dresses and shorts in the summer. And not only that, but I love the variety that this sweet, ditsy print adds to my wardrobe. You know what they say, variety is the spice of life, right? And in my opinion, it’s also the key to a well-rounded wardrobe! Plus there is just something about rompers that makes me feel like I should be heading to an amazing music festival, or some super cool boho-chic event.

Working Girl

Happy Friday, sweet friends! I hope you have all had a great week. I was on the road for work, so despite my best intentions to get some blog posts up and running, my nights were spent getting caught up and prepped for meetings. But today, I’m back! And I am excited to share with you a typical outfit that I would wear to work. Because I am on the road so much for my job (you can read about what I do here), on planes, in cars, and in and out of Executive meetings, I am always looking for work appropriate (and fashionable) outfits that are also super comfy and practical. The Express Portofino shirt has become a staple in my closet (it comes in TONS of cute colors and prints), and I love pairing it back to simple black skinnies, basic jewelry, and a fun pump or heel for a little pop of color. I have found this to be a great basic formula for an easy wear-to-work outfit that works for just about any occaision. Not to mention that this combo also looks fantastic with a blazer for a little more dressed up look!

Nickel Creek

If you know me personally, then you know I LOVE music. And if you don’t, well now you know. I also have a pretty broad taste in music, thanks to my dad’s influence growing up and studying and pursuing music in college. And while my love for music is broad, there are a handful of bands/musicians that are especially near and dear to my heart. And one of those such bands is Nickel Creek. I have been a huge fan of theirs since the late ’90’s when I first fell in love with country and bluegrass. And when they broke up in 2007 before I had a chance to see them live, I was pretty devastated. So when they announced they were getting back together this year and starting to tour in May-I knew I absolutely had to see them. And as luck would have it, the 3rd stop on their Dotted Line tour just happened to be in Salt Lake City. So J and I scored amazing 3rd row tickets and have been counting down the days to the show. And I have got to tell you, the musical talent that this band possesses is truly mind-blowing. It was an absolutely incredible show and I can’t stop smiling today thinking of the magic we saw last night up on that stage. So if you love bluegrass or appreciate musical talent, then check and see if Nickel Creek is coming to your town. And if they are, GO SEE THEM! I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Now on to today’s outfit, which is actually what I wore to the show last night. Casual, but cool with a fun pop of color. When I go to a concert or show I always like to wear a cute tank/cami with a jacket so that I can take the jacket off if I get warm, or leave it on if the venue is cool. In my book, it’s always good to be prepared for either possibility. I am also a high heel kind of girl, but always make sure to wear my comfy heels so that my feet can be sure to last through a night of dancing…

Birthday Balloons…

I have always wanted to do a blog post with balloons (thanks a lot, Pinterest), but the opportunity had just really never presented itself. That is until yesterday, when J surprised me with flowers and balloons before we left town for a quick weekend birthday celebration. And so today, in honor of my birthday, I thought I would celebrate by accessorizing my outfit with a whole bunch of pink balloons. Because if you can’t accessorize with balloons on your birthday, then really, when can you?

So I have a little secret. Remember yesterday’s post and the super cute nude cami I was wearing underneath my red blazer? Well guess what? The purple cami in today’s post is the exact. same. shirt-just reversed! I can’t even tell you how thrilled I was when I stumbled on this amazing find at Express a few weeks ago. Not only is the styling of this particular cami perfect for a multitude of outfits, but every cami is essentially two shirts in one. Two for the price of one?? Happy Thursday, everyone! I am on the road again this week for work, and enjoying the opportunity to spend some time in my home state of Montana. But truth be told, I am ready to be home and sleep in my own bed.

But in the meantime, today I wanted to share with you one of my favorite combinations-camo and hot pink. And while I wouldn’t initially have thought to put this outfit together, I happened to try on this sweater while I was wearing these pants running errands a couple of weekends ago and loved the way they looked together. And once I added pink accessories, I was sold! A perfect and fun go-to outfit for the transitional season between winter and spring!

Down On the Farm

Our weather has been a little crazy the past few days (nice one minute, then raining, or snowing the next!), so between that, and our busy schedules, it’s been a little hard to coordinate for blog photos this week. So yesterday after work, J and I decided to meet at a beautiful historic farm pretty close to our house. And even though it was freezing cold while we were shooting, I loved the location and can’t wait to shoot more photos there-even if we did get chased down by some whopping big snow geese!

And do you know what else I am loving? The simplicity of today’s outfit. Black and white is all the rage this season, and I love it paired back to simple chambray, nude pumps, and a bold lip. Another one of those looks that is so easy to put together, but makes you looked you really put some effort in!

Radiant Orchid

I have to admit, I usually get pretty excited every year when Pantone announces their “official” color of the year. But last year I was so thrilled when they announced that the “it” color of 2013 was Emerald Green, that I didn’t hold out much hope for 2014-that is until they announced that their official color of the year was Radiant Orchid (insert swoon here). Now if there is one color that could top Emerald Green in my book, this is most definitely it. I have been on the hunt for a pair of sequin pants for quite a while now. And believe me, it was much more difficult than I could have ever anticipated. So I was absolutely thrilled when I found this fantastic black pair of sequin pants at Bebe for a steal of a price. In my opinion, they are the perfect holiday party attire. And while I am loving them back to plaid, I can’t wait to style them more ways this holiday season!
