Every fall (it never fails), I become plaid obsessed. Something about cool weather, football, chili, tailgating, scarves, and boots makes want to break out all of my favorite plaid shirts. So my apologies in advance if you are seeing an abundance of plaid on the blog this season, but I just can’t help myself. And if you don’t have any plaid in your closet, then be sure to pick up a few pieces this season. Some of my favorite place to shop for plaid? I love anything that sparkles. Especially if it adds an element of fun to an otherwise classic piece. So when I saw this jacket at Express while I was in SF last wee, I knew it was a perfect addition to my closet. I wear denim jackets all the time (especially this time of year), and I love that I now have a bit of a dressier option in my closet. I can tell this jacket is going to be on heavy repeat in my closet this year!

I am guessing if you follow this blog regularly, then it should come as no surprise that a t-shirt, ripped skinnies, and a great pair of pumps is my go-too outfit. It’s such an easy combo and works perfectly for so many different types of events and outings. And while I am fond of this outfit all year round, I especially love it in the Fall season when I can incorporate another one of my very favorite items-a classic moto jacket!

Salt Lake Magazine Feature

I was beyond thrilled when the sweet Fashion Editor from Salt Lake Magazine contacted me and asked if I would sit down with her for an interview about my blog and career in the fashion industry for their September/October issue. And as you can imagine, of course I said yes! What an honor to be able to talk about All Dolled Up and work with some of the amazing (and talented!) people behind the glossy publication!

And so today, I wanted to share with you the looks I styled for the photo shoot. I had so much fun coming up with Fall inspired outfits for this project (even though it was a sweltering 100 degrees the day we shot!), and it was the perfect excuse to finally buy the tulle skirt from Space 46 Boutique that I had been eyeing for months. And let me tell you, every girl should own a tulle skirt!

Denim on Denim

I’m always a little hesitant to wear two denim pieces together. It probably stems from growing up in Montana and not wanting to be caught in the dreaded “Canadian Tuxedo” (or as I am sure they call it, the “Montana Tuxedo”). But I have found that if your two denims differ enough, then wearing denim on denim is perfectly acceptable, and even quite stylish given the current trend! So take it from me and don’t be afraid to rock your denim pieces together-just make sure you have some contrast!

Quick (late!) post coming to you guys today. This was actually a recent outfit that I wore to work and I just had to share because I am loving bubble gum pink so much this summer. It is a fantastic, versatile color and of course pairs perfectly back to black skinnies and nude pumps with a pop of leopard!

Crop It Like It’s Hot

I loved the crop shirt trend the last go around and fondly remember wearing cute crops with overalls and Birks. Heck, I was even wearing crop tops with low-rise jeans performing at the bars in Nashville back in the day! I was also in my late teens/early twenties at the time-so bearing a little midriff seemed perfectly acceptable. But now that the crop top trend is back, and finding me in my early 30’s, I’ve been a little unsure as to how to tackle this trend. Because at my age, I’m certainly not going to be running around with my navel hanging out! And while I’ve done some cute layering looks with crops, that doesn’t exactly work during the warmer summer months. So for those of you finding yourselves in the same predicament as me, I have found that a super cute and age appropriate way to wear a crop top, is with a high-wasited skirt. It still gives you the look and feel of the crop, but without baring all of the skin! And trust me, your belly button will thank you!
