If you are looking to step up your outerwear game this season, then I would highly recommend trying a furry or fuzzy coat. I initially picked up a blush pink version (which you can see here), and loved it so much, that I have been on the hunt for a more casual option the past few weeks. And I just so happened to luck out and find this cozy one (on sale!) that was exactly what I was looking for. Not only do I love the way it looks, but it is incredibly warm and pretty much feels like I am wearing a cloud. Olive The Other Sequins

One of my favorite aspects about fashion (and home decor!) is repurposing things that I already own. And this sequin JCrew dress is a great example. I picked it up on clearance this summer and loved wearing it during the warmer months. But because December is the month of sequins (and lots of red and green!), I wanted to try styling it for colder weather. So I layered it with my favorite Portofino shirt from Express, and a new vest (that I’m completely obsessed with, BTW). And I have to say, I love the result. This is an outfit that would be great for a company Christmas party, a girl’s night out, or pretty much any dressy event that the month of December serves up!

Date Night Casual

And even though my top is just a plain black shirt, the cut out shoulders give it a slightly edgy feel, while allowing me to still feel super comfy. I’ve always considered myself more of a nude lip/lip gloss girl. But over the last couple of years, I’ve slowly been incorporating lipstick into my life-mostly pinks, reds, and corals. It wasn’t until I stumbled on MAC Rebel last holiday season that I was convinced I could try a “vampier”, purple shade. And almost a year later, it is still one of my favorite lipsticks to wear. So when this beautiful coat arrived from Cabi, MAC Rebel was actually the first thing I thought to pair it with! Ha!

And while this coat is super fun with jeans and pumps, I really can’t wait to wear it to all of my holiday parties this season! So if you are in the market for a fabulous completer piece to get you through party season in style, then I’d highly recommend this pretty little number!

Leopard and Plaid

There is something about the Fall season that makes me want to print mix. And one of my all-time favorite combos to put together is leopard and plaid. So if you haven’t tried mixing these two prints yet, then I challenge you to test it out this Fall. Do you guys watch Project Runway? It is one of my FAVORITE shows. And in this past episode, Edmond (one of my faves!) made a gorgeous pant suit complete with a cloud inspired vest. Believe it or not, sometimes I have no idea what to wear. Honestly, I think we all have those days where we just stand in our closets completely blank, not really knowing where to start. So when I find myself having one of those moments, I’ve found that sometimes the best solution is to go back to basics and go with what I “know”. For me, that is a simple top (usually a tank), a favorite pair of jeans, and a pair of pumps. It’s an outfit I always feel good in and it’s typically appropriate for any occasion. All About Those Shoes

I have been wanting these shoes for a long time, but was a little unsure about the price tag. So after adding them to my Nordie’s shopping bag about 50 times over the last couple of months, I finally decided to go for it. And you know what? I am SO glad that I did. Not only are they super comfortable but they go with WAY more than I thought they would.

In fact, I wore them while I was in Seattle this week for meetings and literally had co-workers and people on the street stopping me to ask where they were from! Plus, since they are a perfect mix between a bootie and shoe, they are a great transitional piece for Fall!
