I know I’ve been saying this a lot lately, but I cannot get enough of long-sleeve dresses and booties this season. It is such an easy and comfy combo, but always leaves me feeling polished and put together. Tunic

Confession: I ordered this “top” thinking that it was a dress. But when it arrived, it was much too short, and the slit was way too high (yikes!) for me to wear it as a dress, let alone in public. Ha! But I loved the print and fabric so much (it is a nice, sturdy scuba material), that I stewed over how to wear it for a while, not wanting to return it. And I finally decided that it could indeed be worn be worn as a top. In the end, while I still wish it was a dress, I am loving how it looks with leggings, and can’t wait to wear it again when the temperature drops with a cute blazer or leather jacket.

Do you guys watch Project Runway? It is one of my FAVORITE shows. And in this past episode, Edmond (one of my faves!) made a gorgeous pant suit complete with a cloud inspired vest. It was one of my favorite looks of the week. And the gorgeous, strappy top that he made, reminded me of one I have in my closet that I’ve never posted to the blog. Wine Not?

J and I were in Sonoma this past weekend doing a little biking and wine tasting, and even though the temps were unusually hot, the leaves were changing colors and Fall was definitely in the air. So I of course, took full advantage of the opportunity and packed some cute plaid and my favorite booties. And I have to tell you guys, wearing dresses with booties is my very favorite kind of outfit right now. Work It

I don’t often post many wear-to-work inspired ideas on the blog. You guys always seem to respond really well to my more casual and laid back looks, so that is what I tend to stick with sharing. But because dressing for work is such an important part of our wardrobes, I want to start infusing a few more of these posts into the mix.

That said, when I am looking for things to wear to work, I like to try and invest in classic and timeless pieces that I can style a lot of different ways. I also travel a ton for my job, so I also tend to gravitate towards fabrics that pack well and wear well on an airplane or in a car. And of course for me, even though I have to dress “business casual” the majority of the time, comfort still plays an important role in my workday wardrobe choices.

Believe it or not, sometimes I have no idea what to wear. Honestly, I think we all have those days where we just stand in our closets completely blank, not really knowing where to start. So when I find myself having one of those moments, I’ve found that sometimes the best solution is to go back to basics and go with what I “know”.
