Shades of Burgundy

I typically tend to gravitate towards red during the holiday season. But another great color option (that is often forgotten in place of its brighter counterpart this time of year), is burgundy. And I am loving the soft combo of this taupe crushed velvet dress back to burgundy accessories and a dark lip. And would you believe this dress is on sale for less than $30? It would be perfect for a Christmas or NYE party!

Velvet Dress

I am really into anything velvet right now. It’s been one of my favorite trends since the beginning of the season, and lends itself perfectly to the holidays. Plus, how cute would this dress be for an upcoming Christmas party? And at less than $40, it definitely won’t break the bank.

Olive The Other Sequins

One of my favorite aspects about fashion (and home decor!) is repurposing things that I already own. And this sequin JCrew dress is a great example. I picked it up on clearance this summer and loved wearing it during the warmer months. But because December is the month of sequins (and lots of red and green!), I wanted to try styling it for colder weather. So I layered it with my favorite Portofino shirt from Express, and a new vest (that I’m completely obsessed with, BTW). And I have to say, I love the result. This is an outfit that would be great for a company Christmas party, a girl’s night out, or pretty much any dressy event that the month of December serves up!
