No matter how old you are, I believe there are ways to participate in the trends of the season (with a little tweaking here and there) to make them age appropriate. Take the cropped trend for example. I have been wanting to give this style a try for quite a while, but I’m obviously not going to be running around town showing off my stomach. So I was pleasantly surprised to find this top that is just long to keep me covered, but just short enough to fall into the cropped category. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s off-the-shoulder (which is my absolute favorite trend this season)!

I’d love to know, do you guys like to try out modified versions of different trends?

I love this little gingham top. It’s such an easy, breezy piece to just throw on and go. And guess what? It would be perfect to wear on the 4th of July! It also comes in a few other colors and prints and is less than $15. Definitely a great piece to add to your closet this summer!

So, I’m kind of sort of obsessed with this dress. And you know why? Because it is one of the most versatile pieces in my closet. I love that I can totally dress it up (like in today’s post), or that I could wear with it with a pair of Chuck Taylors, or some cute wedges and a floppy hat. Pieces like this, my friends, are the best and most cost-effective things you can add to your wardrobe. Plus, wouldn’t this dress be super cute dressed down for the 4th of July?

Neck Candy

Another day, another off-the-shoulder number. I just can’t seem to help myself when it comes to this trend! Plus, it’s the perfect neckline to show off my pretty new necklace from French Kande. Seriously, their jewelry is my FAVORITE. If you haven’t checked them out yet, trust me, you NEED to! Oh, and I should mention that my dress is less than $50 too!!

I don’t typically tend to gravitate towards a lot of black and white combos during the summer months. But when I saw this top, I absolutely fell in love with it. It is so fun and totally different from anything that I have in my closet. And that is exactly why I love shopping with ChicWish. They have so many feminine and unique pieces for really great prices. I’m always on the hunt for good basic tanks during the summer months. But they are surprisingly hard to find. I mean really, is it too much to ask for a solid tank that can be dressed up or dressed down, worn with shorts, skirts, and denim, doesn’t shrink when you wash it, and at a great price point? Apparently so! So when I stumbled on this cute Free People tank, I knew I had to give it a try. And I’m glad I did, because I’m loving it. Plus it’s only $20 and comes in a ton of colors. So if you are like me and looking for a go-to tank, I would highly recommend this one!

Maybe I should apologize in advance, but from here on out, you guys are going to be seeing a lot of off-the-shoulder tops and dresses on my blog. It’s is just one of those trends that I seem to keep reaching for. And this top? A hands down favorite of mine. I love the strapless style, the color, the fabric, and especially the price. Maxi dresses are always a favorite silhouette of mine during the summer months. But the dress in today’s post just might be my favorite maxi ever. I absolutely adore the unique cut, the fact that it’s striped, and you’ll never believe it, but it’s fantastic quality and less than $25. Trust me sweet friends, if you are going to add a new maxi to your wardrobe this summer, this is the one!
