TGIF

I can’t even begin to tell you guys how happy I am that it is Friday!  Why does the first full week of the year always seem to go by so slowly?  Just another one of life’s many mysteries, I guess!  Anyway, today I wanted to share a super casual outfit with you all that is one of my go-to looks.  As much as I love color, I am obsessed with gray and love it paired with white-especially when you throw in a pop of cognac.  I don’t know if it’s the dreariness of January or the post holiday blues, but this is a combo I’ve been reaching for all week. And don’t forget to scroll to the bottom of the post to see if you won the $50 Bohme Boutique giveaway!

Leopard Love

You know me, I love leopard.  So when I spotted this jacket while I was in SF for business meetings a couple of weeks ago, I knew it was a perfect addition to my closet.  And when everyone asked about it when I posted it on my Instagram last week (follow me at @alldoledupblog if you haven’t already!), I knew it had to make an appearance on the blog….

Can you believe another week has come and gone?  Time is certainly flying as we get closer and closer to the holidays.  Isn’t it?  Happy Friday!

Girl About Town

My hubby races bikes every Saturday in the Fall.  And after his race, we usually like to find a new place somewhere in the city to either grab a beer or a coffee and a treat to celebrate.  It’s nothing too big or significant, but one of my favorite weekend traditions none-the-less.  And because our Saturday’s are so laid back, my outfits tend follow suit and are generally some variation of the below.  Jeans, puffy vest, booties, repeat…

Blanketed

I am a big fan of the blanket scarf trend.  When the temps drops and there is snow on the ground, there is just something so cozy and comforting about wrapping up in one.  So when I was in SF a couple of weeks ago for business meetings, I popped into Zara to check out their assortment for the season (since they are the authority in chic blanket scarves).  And I have to say that while I was smitten with the entire collection (and a lot of other things in the store, for that matter), the scarf below was the one that stole my heart.  And now that it has finally cooled off in the SLC, I can already tell that it is going to be a go-to item in my closet this season!

Booties

Today, I want to talk about booties.  They are everywhere this season and I am absolutely in love with the trend.  BUT I’ll be honest, I find booties very difficult to wear.  I workout and bike and ski a lot, so I don’t have super skinny legs.  I’m also short (not quite 5’4″), so I find that most booties can tend to make me look thick in the legs and even shorter than I already am!  And that is definitely not look I’m going for!  Ha! I’ve tried on countless pairs and always love them on the rack and on other people, but seldom like them on myself.  However, I have finally found the trick to the perfect bootie for all you gals out there who are struggling with this trend like me.  And the secret, my friends? Booties that dip down in the front, or that are a little closer to a pump than a bootie (like the pair in today’s post-a shootie, if you will).  Seriously, I can’t tell you what a difference a little dip in the front will make for you and the length it will give you back in your legs.  So if you have been feeling anything like me when it comes to booties-don’t give up!  I’ve linked up some of my favorite, and (more importantly) flattering booties below!

Fri-yay!

Well hello there, Friday!  And hello there, sweet readers!  I am so glad to be back with another outfit post for you guys today!  My apologies for the radio silence, but I was traveling all week for work, and it poured rain all last weekend, so I fell a little behind with my outfit photos.  But the good news is I’m back, AND it’s the end of another work week!  So what better way to kick off the first weekend of the glorious month of October than by showcasing my favorite buffalo plaid shirt and destroyed black skinnies!

Peppermint Plaid

When I think of holiday fashion, I think about dressing up-sequins and sparkles, high heels and statement jewelry, and lots and lots of red.  But one thing I don’t often plan, or think about for that matter, is a comfy, cozy outfit to wear for lounging around on Christmas in between opening presents and dinner festivities. And so today, I wanted to share a look that is festive enough to wear for the holidays, while still being super comfy and at the same time!

Giveaway!

I am so excited to be teaming up with one of my very favorite Etsy shops today, Basil The Cat!  I first discovered this great shop when I was on the hunt for a bubble necklace a couple of years ago.  And I discovered that Rachel not only made them by hand with a beautiful vintage feel (see this post-her’s is the turquoise version), but she also created all sorts of gorgeous one-of-a-kind vintage pieces.  Swoon worthy, really.  And let me tell you, I have a been a huge fan of hers ever since.  So when she contacted me recently to not only give away one of the gorgeous Elephant lockets that I am wearing below, but also offer a 20% discount to All Dolled Up readers for the ENTIRE month of November, how could I say no?  And so today my friends, is your lucky day! Little Red Riding Hood

Happy Friday, everyone! I don’t know about you, but this is always one of my very favorite weekends of the year.  And  do you know why? Because Thanksgiving is awaiting us just on the other side! I love the holidays so much, I can hardly stand it.

And with the holidays literally looming just around the corner, I finally caved and brought all of my winter coats out of storage. And as I was reviewing my personal inventory, I couldn’t help but be completely drawn to my red skirted coat. With color playing such an important role in fashion this year, I think that a brightly colored coat is an important investment that everyone should make this season. And because of the color trend, finding your perfect hue should make for a fairly easy task. Red is a great basic and a good investment because it will never go out of style, but I’ve seen everything from pale pink, to mustard, to vibrant shades of blue. So really, the choice is yours.

Last night J and I went on a little date in downtown SLC. We had a fun dinner at Flemmings and attended the unveiling of the iconic candy windows at our new downtown Macy’s. It was a fun tradition to be a part of and we were so impressed. Pretty amazing that these huge ornaments are all completely made of candy!!
