I am really into graphic tees right now. Like, really into them. I love the idea of throwing on a tee-shirt back to a ripped up pair of jeans and then adding fancy heels and accessories to dress up the look. I guess maybe it makes me a feel a little rock and roll. Plus, it’s a great way to be super comfy while looking put together at the same time.

So I have to say, as much as I love graphic tee’s, I do find it a little difficult to find a good one. It seems to me that more often than not, the sayings on them tend to be a little young, or too cliché for me to want to broadcast on my body. Summer Nights

Last night J and I went with some of our best friends to see one of our favorite musicians at one of the most beautiful amphitheaters ever-Michael Franti and Spearhead at Red Butte Gardens. It was an absolutely perfect night and we had an amazing time. And even though it was a little hot, we still decided to ride our vintage cruisers to the show so we didn’t have to deal with parking-and it was well worth the sweat. Tour of Utah

The Tour of Utah was this weekend and J and I were lucky enough to score VIP tickets to the stage 4 circuit race in downtown Salt Lake City on Friday evening. And because we knew thousands of people would be heading downtown for the event, we decided to ride our cruisers to the Capital building-the location of the Start/Finish. And while I obviously wanted to look nice for the event, I also had to be practical when choosing an outfit that could not only stand up to the heat, but that would also be comfortable for a bike ride as well. And I have to say, one of my favorite dresses of the summer did just the trick…

She’s Gone Country

I grew up in Montana, but ran off to college in Nashville to attend Vanderbilt University and chase the bright lights and shiny stars of a country music career. And through hard work and determination, I was lucky enough to land a regular singing gig at a bar downtown on the most coveted nights of the week. Oh how I loved that chapter in my life. And while I obviously made the decision somewhere along the line to walk away from it all and pursue a more “regular” life, I will always cherish my years in the Music city and Nashville will always hold an incredibly special place in my heart.

So last summer when a friend told J and me that the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville partners with the Sundance Resort in Utah every year to showcase the best songwriter’s from Nashville at Robert Redford’s beloved (and breathtakingly beautiful) resort, I knew I was all in. And so this year, when it fell over our anniversary weekend, I knew it was the perfect way to kick off our celebration. And a perfect evening it was…

And not only was it a perfect night of music in the mountains, it was also the perfect occasion to wear my favorite maxi dress. I am so in love with the vibrant colors and soft fabric of this maxi-I just can’t get enough. And while my hubby (along with most men) is not typically a fan of maxi dresses, he actually doesn’t mind this one. Lucky for him, because he’ll probably be seeing a lot of it this summer! 🙂

Pedal to the Metal

When J and I spent a few days in Red Lodge, MT on our way home from his grandmother’s funeral last week, one of our very favorite things about it was that we could ride our bikes from our hotel to wherever we needed or wanted to go-from daytime adventures to dinner and drinks out on the town. And fortunately for me, I had thought to pack my go-to chambray sleeveless shirt, and Marc Jacobs hobo (that also doubles as a cross body bag)-both of which made for perfect riding attire!

I love wearing white in the summer time. It looks so crisp and fresh and is the perfect complement to a sun-kissed glow. And while it seems obvious to gravitate towards white pants, shorts, and dresses, I think a white skirt is the perfect addition to any wardrobe. It’s a versatile piece that can easily be dressed up (with a silky blouse) or down(with a fun graphic tee) and transitions perfectly from day to night (think blazer for the daylight hours). The It Factor

I initially fell in love with this necklace when I spotted it in JCrew at the beginning of the season. But as enamored as I was, I just couldn’t bring myself to pay the hefty retail price tag for it. And boy am I glad that I waited. Not only did I get an amazing deal on the T+J version (which is excellent quality, by the way), but I was also able to pick it up in another color. I am going to have so much fun styling this necklace over the next couple of months-I can’t wait!
