Motorin’

I am guessing if you follow this blog regularly, then it should come as no surprise that a t-shirt, ripped skinnies, and a great pair of pumps is my go-too outfit.  It’s such an easy combo and works perfectly for so many different types of events and outings.  And while I am fond of this outfit all year round, I especially love it in the Fall season when I can incorporate another one of my very favorite items-a classic moto jacket!

Repeat

Ok guys, I have a confession to make.  A lot of times when it comes to fashion, I can be rather boring.  When I find an outfit combo that works, I often times just continue to repeat it, or slight variations of it (over and over).  Take today’s post for example.  I love the way this dress looks back to denim and a pop of neon, and if you remember this post, then today’s outfit might look awfully familiar to you.  In all honesty though, I think it’s smart to remix your wardrobe-particularly if you are on a clothing budget or don’t love to shop.  And dresses are a great starting piece that are easy to wear over and over in lots of different variations across multiple seasons…

Lucky Number 7

J and I have been married for seven years today.  SEVEN! Can you believe it?  I know I certainly can’t.  In fact, it almost seems like yesterday that we stood before God, our family, and friends to say I do.

They say that your wedding day is one of the best days of your life, and mine certainly was just that and more.  From perfect weather, to celebrating with all of our dearest friends and family, to delicious food, and the most dreamy spot I could have ever imaged for a wedding-it truly was one of the best days I’ve experienced.  And while it makes me a little sad that with each passing day it falls further and further behind us, I can say that I am looking forward to the years ahead of us and all of the adventures to come.  And so today, in lieu of an outfit post, I wanted to take a little walk down memory lane and share some of my favorite wedding shots with all of you!

Nickel Creek

If you know me personally, then you know I LOVE music.  And if you don’t, well now you know.  I also have a pretty broad taste in music, thanks to my dad’s influence growing up and studying and pursuing music in college.  And while my love for music is broad, there are a handful of bands/musicians that are especially near and dear to my heart.  And one of those such bands is Nickel Creek.  I have been a huge fan of theirs since the late ’90’s when I first fell in love with country and bluegrass.  And when they broke up in 2007 before I had a chance to see them live, I was pretty devastated.  So when they announced they were getting back together this year and starting to tour in May-I knew I absolutely had to see them.  And as luck would have it, the 3rd stop on their Dotted Line tour just happened to be in Salt Lake City.  So J and I scored amazing 3rd row tickets and have been counting down the days to the show.  And I have got to tell you, the musical talent that this band possesses is truly mind-blowing.  It was an absolutely incredible show and I can’t stop smiling today thinking of the magic we saw last night up on that stage.  So if you love bluegrass or appreciate musical talent, then check and see if Nickel Creek is coming to your town.  And if they are, GO SEE THEM!  I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Now on to today’s outfit, which is actually what I wore to the show last night.  Casual, but cool with a fun pop of color.  When I go to a concert or show I always like to wear a cute tank/cami with a jacket so that I can take the jacket off if I get warm, or leave it on if the venue is cool.  In my book, it’s always good to be prepared for either possibility.  I am also a high heel kind of girl, but always make sure to wear my comfy heels so that my feet can be sure to last through a night of dancing…

Birthday Balloons…

I have always wanted to do a blog post with balloons (thanks a lot, Pinterest), but the opportunity had just really never presented itself.  That is until yesterday, when J surprised me with flowers and balloons before we left town for a quick weekend birthday celebration. And so today, in honor of my birthday, I thought I would celebrate by accessorizing my outfit with a whole bunch of pink balloons.  Because if you can’t accessorize with balloons on your birthday, then really, when can you?

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

I travel a lot both personally and professionally, so am always on the hunt for comfy layering pieces to keep me cozy to and fro.  So when ToAdorn (one of my very favorite daily deal sites) gifted me this darling cardigan from Tara Lynn’s Boutique, I knew it was going to be a staple piece in my wardrobe. And it most definitely is.  It’s just one of those easy pieces that can be tossed on over just about anything, can be easily tucked into your purse or carry on for travel, and my very favorite part (besides the stripes, obviously)?  The cute suede elbow patches!

Back To Basics

Sometimes when I am shooting outfits for the blog, I feel like I need to layer on extravagant jewelry and accessories, and create outfits with lots of details and interest.  I mean obviously, those types of things photograph better, and I, of course love the challenge of coming up with unique combinations of patterns and accessories to share with you guys (not to mention that it keeps you all interested)!  But on a daily basis, my style is really pretty simple.  And so today, I thought I’d take you back to the basics and share with you an outfit you would most likely catch me in during the work week: a go-to pair of black skinnies, a comfy button down, minimal jewelry, and a great pair of pumps.  Ok, ok, so maybe the pumps aren’t so basic.  But what can I say?  Shoes are my weakness!

THANK YOU so much for stopping by!

P.S. Can you believe the snow on the mountains behind me?  We had been having such gorgeous weather and then over the weekend, it turned on a dime.  Gotta love spring in the Rockies!

Bag Lady

I love handbags-like really love them.  They are my jam, if you will.  And every spring when I receive my annual bonus, I like to treat myself to a new one as a little reward for a year of hard work.  Usually I know without a doubt which one I want to add to my collection (last year was an amazing limited edition yellow studded Michael Kors), but this year I am on the fence.  It’s obvious I am gravitating towards a tote, but there are so many gorgeous bags available this spring that I just can’t seem to make a decision.  So I have to ask, which one of the below bags is your favorite?  And what style handbags are you all craving this Spring?  Spring "It" Bags
