Shifting

I’m not ready to give up my dresses just yet-nor am I ready to break out the tights just yet either.  So I’ve found that the best way to extend the life of my favorite dresses into the Fall season is with a little layering.  And I am absolutely loving the look of a casual chambray shirt back to a more dressed up shift dress. For me, it’s the perfect alternative to a basic cardigan…

I hope you all are having a fantastic week.  I am hitting the road again for work today, which always makes things a little hectic in my life.  But be sure to stop by again tomorrow for another new outfit post!

Blazer of Glory

One thing I feel like I often neglect to write about on this blog is the importance of owning a fantastic black blazer.  I think because I wear them for work nearly every day, I forget that it’s a piece not everyone might own.  But with the weather changing, I am finding that I am reaching for my blazers not only for work, but also to wear as a light jacket back to my favorite destroyed skinnies and a tried-and-true graphic tee.  They really are the perfect piece for so many different occasions and something everyone should have in their closet…

American Eagle Part Three

Happy Friday everyone!  And welcome to the third and final installment of my Bloggers Do It Better feature with American Eagle!  This outfit was my personal favorite of the three. Which should come as no surprise, because as I’ve said time and time again on this blog, there is nothing I love more than mixing something sweet back to something a little more gritty-especially when there is a little (or a lot) of sparkle involved…

American Eagle Part Two

First of all, I just want to thank you all for the outpouring of love and support yesterday!  I have been so excited to share this project with all of you and the response has far exceeded what I had hoped for.  So THANK YOU ALL from the bottom of my heart.

Today, I wanted to share the details of my 2nd outfit with you.  Truth be told, I had done a shoot with another outfit but when it was time to submit the photos, I just didn’t feel right about it.  And I can’t tell you how glad I am that I trusted my gut and opted for one more photo-op with my favorite vest.  Because it was by far and away, everyone’s favorite look of the three…

American Eagle Feature

I was beyond thrilled when American Eagle contacted me a few weeks ago and asked me to be a part of their Bloggers Do It Better series (ok, I was more than beyond thrilled).  I mean seriously, to have the opportunity to work with one of my absolute favorite retailers on a collaboration is literally a dream come true.  Somebody pinch me please!! And so today, I am incredibly excited to share with you what we have been working on!

The challenge that was given to my by AE was to style their Contrast Strap Bootie (in leopard) three different ways.  And while we revealing all three looks today (head on over to AE’s blog to check out my feature), I will release the specific details about each outfit one post at a time!  And so, without further adieu, I leave you with my new favorite booties, styled not just one, but three different ways!

No Place Like Home

There is just something special about a pair of red shoes.  Maybe it’s the Dorothy Gale in me, but I’ve been drawn to them since I was a little girl and have always longed for my very own pair of ruby red slippers.  And while I doubt these will take me anywhere with the click of my heels, at least they are pretty (and amazingly comfortable too)…

Up On The Roof

When the weather cools down, one of the first things I typically find myself reaching for is anything leopard.  And while a lot of times the leopard pieces I wear tend to be shoes and accessories, it’s awfully hard to beat a good leopard top.  Especially when paired back to a fun moto jacket and a favorite pair of skinnies…

Camo Couture

Since I’m heading down south tomorrow, it seems I’ve got camo on my mind.  And believe it or not, camo just happens to be one of my very favorite prints.  Maybe it’s the Montana girl in me, or maybe it’s the years I spent below the Mason Dixon line-either way, I couldn’t be happier that it’s an important print for the season.  Kinda feels right up my alley-especially dolled up a little!

P.S. Can you believe it’s October already?  Holy cow!  Where on earth did the month of September go?

Geometric

I love a good geometric print, but it’s not very often that I’m drawn to one enough to actually purchase and wear one.  I suppose it’s one of those things that just lies outside of my fashion comfort zone.  And to be totally honest, even though I write a blog chronicling my daily outfits, believe it or not, it is still pretty easy to get stuck in a fashion rut.  So I am constantly reminding myself to step out of that comfort zone and try something new.  Even if it’s something as seemingly small as trying out a new pattern…

Leopard Kicks

It’s no secret that I love leopard.  So I couldn’t be more excited that leopard is really in this season.  And I feel pretty strongly that one must-have-item every gal should add to her closet this Fall is a pair of leopard shoes.  So whether you pick pumps, wedges, flats, or boots, just be sure to find your perfect leopard pair to help take your style up a notch this Fall!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  It certainly felt like fall here, but it was lovely.  I am heading to my Alma mater this Thursday to celebrate Homecoming and my 10 year reunion-and I am so excited that I can hardly stand it.  I am sure it will make this week go by extra slow (of course!).
