If you would have asked me a couple of years ago if I would ever consider wearing bright pink pants in the middle of the winter, I probably would have told you no. Justin and I took a nice long vacation to Nicaragua in January. And while most people looked at us like we had four eyes when we told them where we were headed, I can’t even begin to put into words how amazing it was. So instead, I thought I would share with you a glimpse into our incredible trip and let our photos speak for themselves. Enjoy!!!

I think it’s pretty easy to see why J and I absolutely fell in love with Nica. In fact, I’m surprised we ended up coming back all! Kidding (well, sort of). But I can definitely see why so many ex-pats have taken refuge in the quaint town of San Juan Del Sur and why surfers and backpackers and tourists travel from all over the world to soak in the sun, enjoy the cuisine, and catch some of the best waves in the world. And while we haven’t been back in the states for very long, we are already working on planning our next trip back! Truly it was, the adventure of a lifetime.

It’s no secret I’m mildly obsessed with polka dots. So of course it should come as no surprise that one of the things at the top of my wish list this season was a pair of polka dot printed pants. But I must confess, I’ve been a bit challenged as to how to style them. And so, after a bit of trial and error, it dawned on me that a bold neon paired with an easy neutral just might be the perfect complement…

I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that our big trip to Nicaragua has come and gone and it’s back to the grind. But I must say that we had an absolutely incredible vacation-really it was the adventure of a lifetime. Teen Spirit

Oh, the ’90’s. NOT my favorite era in fashion. Maybe it was because I was an angsty teen trying to navigate my way through junior high and high school, or maybe my sense of style was a little more girly than grunge (thank goodness for Clueless!!). But I must say that I am enjoying revisiting certain pieces made famous during that decade-specifically flannels. Not only are they comfy, but they are super cute and look fantastic back to fun jewelry, boyfriend jeans, and a great pair of pumps. A little grunge glam if you will. Which in my book, is hands down much better than just plain old grunge.
