Casual Friday

I hardly ever wear flats. Part of it is because I am short, so I feel pretty short (and stumpy!) when I’m not in heels. But the other reason is because I have super narrow feet (and big!) feet, and I just can’t ever seem to find any that fit me properly! But when I spotted these leopard sneakers on the clearance rack at Macy’s a few weeks ago during a work trip (my feet were aching from being in heels and on my feet all day!), I thought it might not hurt to give them a try. And, while I can’t say I’m fully convinced that I pull them off, I am so glad that I am least trying. They have actually been the perfect commuter shoe when I’m working in the city, and I have even found myself gravitating towards them to run errands, or to ride my cruiser to dinner. And as much as I love my pumps and heels, I guess it isn’t really feasible to wear them everywhere….

Leopard Blazer

Like I’ve always said, leopard can be used as a neutral and works well back to pretty much any color you have in your closet. But truth be told, leopard and red is one of my all-time favorite combos-a pair that I often find myself gravitating towards. And since neutrals have been reigning supreme in my closet as of late, I decided it was time to put a little pop of color back in my wardrobe-and this was the perfect choice!

Statement Pumps

It’s no secret that I love shoes. And there is almost nothing in the whole wide world of fashion that I love more than a great pair of statement pumps! So when I spotted these gorgeous Vince Camuto stunners when I was in San Francisco for meetings last week, I knew they would be a perfect addition to my wardrobe! Not only will they look fantastic with jeans, but I am especially loving the way they amp up a simple long sleeved black dress. A perfect (and super easy!) look for date night if you ask me!

I have been really into neutrals lately. But perhaps equally as high on my radar is anything white. And based on what’s going on out in the market, I can tell I’m not alone! White is one of the hottest trends of the season. And with warmer temps upon us, I am ready to put all things white on heavy rotation in my closet! I am loving any top I can get my hands on with details on the shoulders this season. From embroidery (see this post), to cut outs, to sequins-I am all in. And I am especially a fan of this sweater since it is such a lovely shade of my favorite color-yellow! Plus, I am loving it back to a more casual boyfriend jean and a super playful mule pump. Juxtaposition

I didn’t think about it when I put this outfit together, but when I was editing these photos, I noticed the juxtaposition that I created-floral shoes and a beanie paired together in the same look! Ha! But for some reason, I think it works. Maybe it’s the part of me that’s longing for warmer weather, or maybe it’s the color combo of mint and pale pink that I can’t seem to stop wearing lately. Second Chance

There is a funny saying floating around Instagram that says: “Nothing haunts us like the things we didn’t buy”. And every time I see it, I have a good chuckle, because sometimes it isn’t that far from the truth! Such was the case for the sweater in today’s post. I tried it on at JCrew last summer and decided not to buy it (even though I loved it). And I have always regretted not purchasing it. So when I saw that JCrew Factory released an almost identical version a few weeks ago-I pounced! And I am SO glad that I did. Not only did I get a great deal on it, but it is such a pretty and unique piece that I know I will wear for years to come. Thank goodness for second chances!
