Field Jacket

I love a good jacket! Especially this time of year when the temps are warming up, but it’s not quite warm enough (at least where I live!) to go without some layers. I had been eyeing this jacket at JCrew for quite some time, so when I finally went on sale, I pounced. It is a classic piece that I will have in my closet for years to come and lately that is what I am trying to focus on-making smart shopping decisions.

Two of my favorite things? A comfy knit dress, and this gorgeous white barn up in Park City!!! I have been consciously trying to incorporate long sleeve casual dresses into my wardrobe this year. Not only are they incredibly comfortable, but they are great for so many different occasions-especially when you want to be a little dressed up without being overdone. Stripes

Sometimes there is nothing better than a great stripe. It’s a tried and true print that never goes out of style and looks great in tops, jackets, pants, shoes, even bags! So if you don’t have any stripes in your closet, or if you have been too busy wearing florals this spring and neglecting your stripes (like me!), then it’s definitely time to revisit! I love a good pop of neon. And these floral shoes? I can’t stop wearing them. They are so fun and perfect for Spring-they might just very well be my favorite thing on repeat in my closet as of late. But then again, I seem to be loving anything in a floral this season!!!

Happy Monday, friends! Hope you all had a great weekend! Ours was filled with home renovation projects, friends, and lots and lots of sunshine and biking. BUT despite the fantastic weather, there was definitely still a chill in the air. And this time of year, when temps are still in that in-between phase, I find that a denim jacket is the perfect weight to layer on over your outfit to keep you warm and stylish. And I am loving this pale blue, white washed version from Nordstrom. It’s a nice change-up from tried and true blue and gives me different options for styling than my go-to JCrew denim jacket. Plus, something about the pale color just feels extra fresh for Spring…

There is nothing I feel more comfortable in than a basic tee, a cute moto jacket, destroyed skinnies, and a fun pair of pumps. I guess you could say it’s my uniform, and definitely my go-to ensemble when I don’t know what to wear (which happens way more often than you might think!). And while I normally gravitate towards 7 for all mankind as my denim of choice, these Citizens have quickly become my current favorites! Sunshine On My Shoulders

A yellow blazer is a piece I have been wanting to add to my wardrobe for the last 5 years, but I have never been able to find quite the right one. And after searching high and low for so long, I had all but given up until I saw this one in the window at Zara in downtown Seattle a couple of weeks ago. I knew the minute I saw it, that it was exactly what I had been looking for! And I absolutely LOVE it! I know I’ve said it before, but blazers are a great investment piece to add to your wardrobe. Not only are they classic and never go out of style, but you can wear them to just about any event-whether it be social or work related. Stepping Out

I tend to gravitate towards the same kinds of items: button-downs, t-shirts and cardis, black leather jackets and ripped jeans-if you follow along with my blog, then you’ve probably noticed! lol But one of the best parts of having a blog is that it forces me to take a look at my closet and make smart decisions when adding to my wardrobe. So when I saw this shirt at Zara when I was in Seattle for business meetings last week, I knew it would be a great investment. Not only is a silhouette that I don’t own anything similar to, but it is also a print that is completely different from anything else I own (and perfect for Spring, of course!)! So my advice to you guys today? Even though it is easy to buy the same kinds of things that we like to gravitate towards, it is important to push yourself outside of your comfort zone and add unique pieces to your closet that you will keep for years to come!

The Blues

I am loving all shades of blue this season. And even though blue is a color I always love, it’s not necessarily a color that I’m typically drawn to wear, or one that has a very big presence in my wardrobe. But because there are so many beautiful shades available this spring and it is such an “it”color, blue is something I am definitely making an effort to wear more of!

Apologies for the radio silence on the blog the last few days! I am a Regional Director of Strategy for a major retailer and was facilitating my Spring 2016 planning meetings in Seattle all week. And even though I had a bunch of outfit photos ready to go, I was too exhausted to get any text posted. But I am back home now and can’t wait for a fun weekend with my hubby and pups!
