Neon

I love a good pop of neon.  And this cute top from last summer is still one of my favorite things in my closet.  It’s just one of those items that looks great with just about everything-denim, shorts, skirts-you name it!  You can also see how I styled it last summer, here!

Black and White

I have to wear all black when I do store visits for work, so I typically tend to shy away from wearing a lot of black in my personal life.  But when I saw this cute dress at Express-I just couldn’t resist.  I was initially drawn to it because of the cute one shoulder silhouette, but the black and white tribal print feels so fresh for the season.  Plus, the fun ruffle details makes it totally different from anything else I have in my wardrobe.  And I have to say, I am really looking forward to dressing this one up AND down for a more casual looks this summer!

Flower Power

I am fairly short, at just 5’3″, but I have long legs and a short torso, so shopping in the petites department doesn’t typically work for me.  I normally just buy regular sizing, and if I ever run into a pant inseam that is a little too long, I just take them to my (amazing!) tailor here in the SLC.  So when I spotted this cute peplum jacket a couple of months ago at Macy’s, and the XS was too big for me, I was initially at a loss.  But when I noticed it also came in petite, I decided to give it shot.  And guess what?  It worked perfectly!  It was a great reminder for me that if I ever have trouble with regular sizing, that petites can be a great alternative.  So if you are on the short side like me, don’t forget about the petite department!

Happy hump day, sweet friends!  Hope you are all having a fabulous week!

Romper Time

When I stumbled on a romper version of my favorite shirt ever, I knew that I had to have it.  But because I have long legs, and a short torso (I’m still only 5’3″), I tend to struggle with finding rompers that fit my body type.  So when I put it on and it fit perfectly (and felt like pajamas!) it was a definite no-brainer.  And it really is a perfect summer addition to my wardrobe that is different than anything else I own, all the while being as familiar as my favorite shirt.  And an added bonus?  It’s the perfect thing to wear for the 4th of July paired back to red heels and a bold red lip!

Weekend Vibes

If you have followed this blog for any length of time, then you know that I love vests.  And this super soft, tribal printed one from Nordstrom Rack is no exception.  Vests are such a great item to throw on with a t-shirt and jeans, over a cute dress, with shorts and a tank-no matter the season, a vest is an easy piece to take a simple outfit up a notch.

And don’t forget to scroll to the bottom of the post to see who won the Sonix Case from Outfit Yours!!!

Pleats

I am loving the pleated trend this season.  And of course navy.  I don’t know what it is about navy dresses, but I am always drawn to them.  So when I spotted this navy pleated number at BCBG, I knew it was a great summer dress-perfect for a plethora of different occasions, and an easy piece to style a lot of different ways.  And those are the best types of items to add to your wardrobe-the ones that give you lots of options…

Gingham

Gingham has always been one of my very favorite prints.  So when I saw that my favorite Portofino shirt from Express came in a light blue gingham this spring, it was an obvious choice to add to my wardrobe.  And let me tell you, I have already worn this shirt a ton AND have so many more ideas of how I will continue to style it different ways all summer long. But I want to know, what you are guys thinking of the gingham trend this season?

Sheinside

I’ve been eyeing the Sheinside website for quite a while now.  So when they reached out and asked if I would be interested in trying out some of their clothes, I couldn’t help but oblige.  And while there were SO many cute things to choose from on their site, I ultimately settled on a dress that is almost identical to my favorite Free People dress (which you can see here).  At a mere price tag of $30 vs. the $148 original version, I wanted to compare the two and really get a feel for the quality of clothing on Sheinside.  And you guys, I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. While it is a little shorter than the my Free People dress, I overall like the fit better.  The arms were also a little slimmer too, which I also prefer.  And I have to say, I was also quite impressed with the quality-not only the was the fabric very nice, but the dress was also fully lined.  After this experience, I will definitely be shopping with Sheinside again.  In fact, you can see my current wish list at the bottom of the post!

Tailor Made

As I’ve gotten older, I have learned the importance of a good tailor.  And that just because something doesn’t fit you off the rack, doesn’t mean that it can’t still work for you.  And the dress in today’s post is the perfect example.  My mom and I stumbled on this gem at Anthropologie when my parents were in town a couple of weekends ago.  It was originally $228 and we found it on the sale rack marked down to $48 (um, WOW!).  It was the gorgeous fabric that initially drew me to it, but the original length was tea length and it just swallowed me up and was really unflattering.  But neither of us could get over the fabric (you should see it in person!) so we hatched a plan to have it shortened and I took it to my tailor (who also couldn’t get over the fabric), and he shortened it for me for a mere $20.  And I have to say, I think it is one of my very favorite dresses in my closet right now.  I guess it goes to show that it can be worth it to think outside of the box a little bit.  So if you don’t have a tailor, I would definitely suggest finding a good one in your neighborhood-you just never know when they might come in handy!

Sonix Phone Case Giveaway!!

I don’t know about you guys, but ever since the iPhone 6 came out, I have been having a heck of a time finding a case for mine. So when Outfit Yours contacted me and asked if I wanted to give one of their Sonix 6 plus cases a spin, I immediately obliged.  And I have to say, I am truly impressed.  Not only is my case adorable, but it is super durable and actually protects my phone-without making it bulky.  And while the side control buttons are protected and covered, they are still really easy to use (unlike many other cases I have tried!).  I really just can’t say enough great things about this case.

And so today, Outfit Yours and I are teaming up to give away a Sonix phone case of the winner’s choice (any style phone!) and offering a 15% off discount on any Sonix product to All Dolled Up readers!  Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the post for details and to enter for your chance to win!
