Name: Abby Doll (now you know what inspired my blog title!)
Height: 5′ 3″
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Hometown: Kalispell, Montana
Why Did you Start All Dolled Up? I have loved fashion for as long as I can remember and as an adult, have made a career for myself in the Fashion Industry. And because both my professional and personal life are so involved in fashion, friends have always asked me for style and beauty tips and several even recommended I start a blog. After mulling it over for quite some time, I finally decided to take the plunge. And boy am I glad that I did! Not only has it been a fantastic creative outlet for me, but it’s given me the opportunity to create fantastic friendships and relationships, work with amazing vendors, and has really pushed me out of my fashion comfort zone and through those fashion ruts we all get stuck in from time to time!
What is it that you love the most about Fashion? I think a lot of women tend to be intimidated by Fashion. But personally, I think it is one of the best platforms we have as women to express ourselves and build our own personal confidence. If you look good and feel good, that will radiate from within you. I think Fashion is a tool that we should use to elevate and build ourselves up as women. Have you ever seen the show What Not To Wear? Case and point!
What do you do professionally? I have been a Buyer and Designer for the last 8 years working for several major domestic retailers including Sundance Catalog, and Overstock.com, and have also worked abroad as a consultant with a well-known Italian sourcing agent. While I specialize in Footwear, Handbags, and Accessories, I also have experience in both Women’s and Men’s Apparel. Currently I am a District Buyer and Planner with Macy’s. And while I report to the Central Buying Office in NYC, I am based out of the Executive District Offices in Salt Lake and am responsible for the buying and planning for 12 different store across 4 states. Let’s just say I’m definitely busy and on the road a lot!
Are you married? Kids? I have been married to my best friend, Justin, for the last 7 years. We don’t have any kids (yet), but we do have 2 small dogs that we consider our kiddos for the time being.
What are your hobbies? Being a born-and-raised Montana girl, and now living in the great state of Utah, my hubby and I are super active. I love to ski, road bike, hike, run, and am an avid Bootcamp-er. I tried the whole Crossfit thing, but Bootcamp is where it’s at for me. I also love to decorate, and recently we completely gutted and renovated our entire house. It was a pretty crazy experience, and I now know how to do things I never thought I would be able to do-like set toilets and do basic electrical. I am also pretty good with the sledge hammer. And while we are currently enjoying our finished product, the bug to find our next project and do it all over again is starting to set in. I also love to sing and play the piano-my original career choice before I wound up in Fashion.
What is the most interesting place you have ever been? Justin and I LOVE to travel and have been fortunate to take some pretty epic trips together over the years. But I would have to say that a few of my favorites would have to be Thailand, Australia, and most recently, Nicaragua. I have also gotten to travel to Italy and Paris on business and would love the opportunity to go back for a personal vacation.
Do you collaborate? YES! I absolutely LOVE to work with vendors on all sorts of collaborations. I do giveaways, run features, and am open to all sorts of possibilities! Just shoot me an email (address below) and we can talk details!
What companies and brands have you worked with or been featured by? Even though I am still fairly new to the Fashion Blogging world, I have been really fortunate to forge some fantastic partnerships over the last few months. Most recently, I was able to work with American Eagle and do a segment for their Bloggers Do It Better Series. I have been featured by Michael Kors, Sole Society, Rebecca Minkoff, and Gap as a blogger they love. And I am also honored to be a Lucky Magazine Style Contributor and a part of the rewardStyle blogging community. I have also done giveaways and features with numerous local Boutiques and Spas, Etsy shops, Groop Dealz, and Stella & Dot.
What are your favorite places to shop? I’m a high-low kind of girl, so my favorites are kind of all over the board. But a handful of stores that definitely top my list are Macy’s, JCrew, Nordstrom, American Eagle, Anthropologie, H&M, Express, Banana Republic, Forever21, BCBGMaxazria, The Limited, Michael Kors, TJMaxx, and Kate Spade.
Do you take requests? Of course! I absolutely love to write posts inspired by readers. So if there is specific content you would like to see, a tutorial, etc. just let me know and I will work on getting something posted.
How do I contact you? The easiest way to reach me is via email. But you can also shoot me a message on Facebook, or leave a comment below!
